From the Bible Recap
God, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Let any knowledge I gain serve to help me love You and others more, and not puff me up. Help me see something new about You I’ve never seen before. Correct any lies I believe about You or anything I misunderstand. Direct my steps according to Your Word. In Christ's name I pray. Amen!
Each day: read the Scripture, pray for understanding, and answer the questions
DAY 1 The Humble Arrival.
List what you learn about the arrival of the Savior? What surprises you about His arrival?
DAY 2 Do You Hear What I Hear?
Imagine yourself in this passage. Describe the setting (sights, smells, and what you might hear). How might you “feel” in this situation?
DAY 3 Who Me?
How did the person/people respond to the arrival? Would you respond in the same way? Why or why not?
DAY 4 The Thrill of Hope
Read the passage out loud (perhaps read from two additional Bible translations) Take time to listen and reflect. What hope does this passage offer? What hope does this passage give you?
DAY 5 Faith Comes From Hearing
Learning the truths about the birth of Jesus Christ builds a foundation on which our faith grows. How has your faith grown by reading and studying this passage? With whom would you want to share this message?
